Practice Notes:

This piece can be played on a single ocarina but I found that it is easier on the double. Playing on a double makes measure six (and all of the recurring measures like 6) a little easier when playing up to tempo. However playing on a double does not make measure 46 any easier. Practice this measure slowly making sure not to rush. Imagine your fingers landing perfectly at the precise times. Oddly enough this will help prevent rushing.

Practice Notes:

In this piece, be careful to blow lightly for the low C#’s in the 6^th and 10^th measures from the end. If you do not blow lighter, this note will be too sharp. Also, be sure to tongue extra light for the staccato 16^th notes such as the ones found in measure 9.

Practice Notes:

In this piece the most important thing is style. To achieve the correct style, keep everything short and lifted. This is especially true for the eighth note triplets found throughout the piece. This piece also contains a lot of 5ths. Practice these intervals slowly at first to make sure you are playing them in tune.
